On August 15 and 16, 2026, Jaipur will celebrate Hariyali Teej with vibrant traditions, folk music, green attire, and the grand royal procession through the Pink City.
The celebrations are scheduled from 5:00 PM onwards on both days. Entry is free, making it a great cultural experience for visitors exploring Jaipur during the monsoon.
The famous Shahi Sawari brings royal charm to the festival. The procession features the decorated palanquin of Teej Mata, traditional chariots, camels, horses, and folk performers.
The procession begins near Tripolia Gate at the City Palace and moves through Tripolia Bazaar, Chhoti Chaupar, and Gangauri Bazaar, bringing Jaipur’s historic streets alive.
Women traditionally wear vibrant green and red outfits, decorate their hands with mehendi, and celebrate the arrival of monsoon with music, prayers, and festive gatherings.
Decorated swings are hung from trees while devotional songs and folk music fill the streets. The festival beautifully connects monsoon traditions with Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage.
Hariyali Teej celebrates the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Women pray for happy marriages, family well-being, and prosperity during this auspicious festival.
