Rajgir is a Town located in Nalanda District of Bihar. Rajgir is also referred as the city of Kings. The city is surrounded with its beautiful sceneries and also has spiritual and vibrant hues of history which link with both Buddhism and Jainism. The town is surrounded with Rocky Hills dense forest caves and Springs which turn the town into a Paradise for travelers. The town is famous as Lord Buddha and Lord Mahavir both have spend time here giving the town I used spiritual and religious important in both the religions. Tourist can visit numerous temples and ruins sites and also spend some peaceful time.


Rajgir Ropeway, Rajgir


The Rajgir Ropeway is one of the oldest ropeway in India which offers a beautiful view of the nature. The ropeway will lead you to the famous Vishwa Shanti stupa which is also known as peace Pagoda. The Rope is situated on a height of over 1000 feet from the ground level which is thrilling to ride and attracts tourists who are adventure enthusiast. Vulture's peak is also known as griddhakuta is a significant pilgrimage site for Buddhist as it is one of the top three places where Gautam Buddha preached for many years. The peak is located on a small hill just outside of Rajgir at an altitude of 400 m. The peak is known as vulture speak as it is shaped like a vulture. The peak is said to be the place where Lord Buddha resided for many years and this place also offers a 360 degree view of the entire surrounding which is must visit place.

Opened in 1982, the Veerayatan Museum is a beautiful Jain museum showcasing the history of each of the 24 Jain Tirthankaras. It has been dedicated to Jainism and exhibits several artifacts and homemade objects representing the teachings and lives of the 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism. Due to its location in the foothills of the Vaibhav Giri hills, the museum has a very peaceful and serene atmosphere.

The Maniar Matth was once a monastery of a cult who worshipped snakes. Here, the figures of different snakes that are found here can be seen. The structure is in the shape of a stupa and named after a small shrine that was found here on excavation. The photos of Buddha are also seen on the outer walls.


Tapodharma or the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Rajgir


Tapodharmaion was an ancient Buddhist monastery. The Lakshmi Narayan Mandir has been built on the same location where once Tapodharmaion monastery was present. There are a few hot springs found at the place and it is believed that these hot water springs have curative properties. The Brahmakund here is a popular spring and its temperature is generally around 45 degree Celsius.
