Konark Tourist Places: Where the Sun Meets Timeless Artistry

Konark, is located in Odisha, India, and is visited by many for its architectural marvel, the Sun Temple. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga dynasty in the thirteenth century. Constructed as the vast ideal chariot of the Sun God Surya, this magnificent temple was etched with a touch of the supernatural along with the craftsmanship of an edifice, which is truly magnificent.

The temple has 12 wheels, elaborately carved in stone, which indeed, symbolize the move of time. Its architecture would also be in compliance with the movement of the sun, thus testifying progress in astronomical sciences during that period. The wall panels show life scenes from mythology, everyday activities, animals, and heavenly beings, which demonstrate that this is the vast cultural and artistic heritage of ancient India.
