Kishangarh Tourist Places: A Royal Canvas of Legacy

Kishangarh, located in the northeastern part of Rajasthan, is a town that seamlessly combines art, culture, and history. Founded in the 16th century, it has been a significant center of the Marwar Rajputs and served as a royal seat under the patronage of the Kishangarh rulers.

The town is best known for the Kishangarh School of Painting, a style that flourished in the 18th century under the influence of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. This style, particularly renowned for its portraits of the royal family and depictions of the Bani Thani, a beautiful woman in Mughal-style painting, is still preserved in many local artworks.
