Located at the core of southern India, this beautiful land of captivating history and vibrant culture beckons to a tourist. From the royal grandeur of ancient forts and palaces to the peaceful charm of picturesque lakes and luscious landscapes, Telangana unfolds a different blend that no other region can offer in the same way to a tourist. This is the "Land of Golden Temples" and a treasure trove of heritage, spirituality, and modern marvels in one shot. This is something no one would want to miss-a revealing journey that unravels the rich southern traditions of India.

Starting Point: Your journey from Hyderabad-the state capital, often referred to as the "City of Pearls" because of its rich history in the pearl and diamond trade. Hyderabad is a city where old and new go very well together. The grand four arches of the beautiful Charminar present the symbol of the city, while the historic Golkonda Fort, sitting on top of the hill, invites you to explore the grandeur of medieval Islamic architecture. The Qutb Shahi Tombs and the Chowmohalla Palace claim to be the symbol of Nizams' richness, while art lovers have a treasure trove to enjoy at the State Museum Salar Jung. No visit to Hyderabad would be complete without trying out the world-famous biryani of this city that is as well-nourished in taste as the city is laden with history.

Peddamma Temple or Grand Temple: This temple is dedicated to goddess Peddamma. Make a pilgrimage for some spirituality amidst the buzzing city. You can find complete peace in the stillness of the city by visiting the Birla Mandir, which sits atop a hill, giving panoramic views of the entire city. Leave for Warangal, an ancient city that was once the capital of the Kakatiya dynasty. The city boasts of architectural wonders in the form of the majestic Warangal Fort, intricate Thousand Pillar Temple, and, of course, the stunning Ramappa Temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Remnant remains of the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam, also referred to as the Warangal Arch, remind one of the great heights this city once held, but the serene Bhadrakali Lake adds its bit to this olden city's charm.

Take a southbound road to the Nagarjunasagar town, known for housing one of the most significant dams in India. The Nagarjunasagar Dam is an excellent feat of engineering marvel, and the Nagarjuna Konda Island on its adjacent side, which houses ancient relics and monuments of the Buddhists, is a peaceful and spiritually enriching place. The surroundings can be fully enjoyed with scenic views of the hills and the boating by the reservoir; this is turning out to be a great spot for nature lovers and history enthusiasts.

There is much to explore - great for nature lovers - ranging from lush forests and serene lakes to the Pochampally village, Ikat-weaving a renown, and something of an absorption into another culture, or the Ananthagiri Hills for a very peaceful retreat in trails and rich biodiversity. Then there are the Kuntala waterfalls in Adilabad district.

Another hidden gem is the historical town Khammam, which is replete with its tourism landscapes. Stuffed with charm, the Khammam Fort atop a hill gives an eagle's eye view, while a short drive takes one to the tranquil Lakaram Lake waiting to be boated and relaxed in.

Besides, there is the rich cultural heritage that Telangana finds itself proud of, as festivals play an important role in the vibrant social life of the state. Examples include the hosting of the Bonalu festival in honor of the goddess Mahankali in Hyderabad and the rest of the regions, filling the streets with color processions, traditional dance, and music. Then there is the traditional kite flying associated with the Sankranti festival, another occasion by which communities get together to celebrate joyfully.

The Telangana cuisine is as rich in spice as it is in the different styles of tradition. The spicy and tarty taste of mirchi ka salan and the biryani that is spicy with the Hyderabad style, and the offerings for bonalu, will keep the taste buds open for that sixth degree of heavenly cooking. And then, of course, there is the double ka meetha, which takes a person directly to the land of the rich and aromatic desserts of Telangana.
