The lighted ghats, the aroma of incense sticks, and the tinkling of conch shells set the tone for devotion and peacefulness—providing a gentle introduction to the divine essence of Varanasi.

Experience the enchanting sight of floating diyas on the river, freezing a moment which seems timeless. After this magical experience, back to the hotel for an overnight stay in peace at Varanasi, contemplating the divine vibrations of the evening.

Spiritual Exploration of Varanasi & Sarnath

Your day in Varanasi starts even before the dawn, with a peaceful early morning boat ride on the sacred River Ganges. As the morning sun rises over the horizon, see the age-old ghats spring to life with spiritual activity—pilgrims praying, chanting hymns, and bathing in sacred waters. This otherworldly experience sets the tone for your day in India's sacred city.

After the boat ride, go ahead and visit the holy Kashi Vishwanath Temple, which is a shrine of Lord Shiva, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas found in India. Observe from afar the Gyanvapi Mosque, a reflection of the city's complex history and religious diversity.

Come back to your hotel for a healthy breakfast before embarking on a spiritual tour to Sarnath, which is only 12 km from Varanasi. The holy place where Lord Buddha gave his very first sermon after enlightenment and laid the ground for the Buddhist Sangha.

In Sarnath, visit the imposing Dhamekh Stupa, one of the most important and sacred Buddhist stupas in the world. Be in harmony with the energy and serenity of this serene spot that welcomes pilgrims from across the earth. In the evening, visit the Sarnath Museum, which has an excellent collection of Buddhist remains, such as the renowned Ashokan Lion Capital, the national symbol of India.

After such a spirituality and history-infused day, come back to Varanasi for an overnight hotel stay. Contemplate the deep wisdom of Buddha and the timeless atmosphere of this timeless city.

Let AlxTrip be your guide through experiences that will link you to centuries of wisdom, faith, and inner calm.

Varanasi to Prayagraj – Triveni Sangam & Sacred Sights

Following a refreshing breakfast, check out of your hotel and start your scenic intercity journey from Varanasi to Prayagraj (previous name Allahabad), a mythologically rich city and spiritual magnet.

On reaching Prayagraj, go for the check-in at your hotel and take a brief break to relax and freshen up.

Short while later, your spiritual path continues as you walk to the fabled Triveni Sangam—the meeting of three holy rivers: Ganga, Yamuna, and unseen Saraswati. The confluence itself is very sacred in Hinduism, with believers thinking that bathing in this spot eradicates sin and provides moksha (liberation). If you'd like, take a boat across to the Sangam and feel the divine peace that permeates this spiritual hub.

Then, go to the holy Hanuman Mandir, famous for its gigantic reclining idol of Lord Hanuman which gets half-submerged during monsoons. Visit the historic Anand Bhavan, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's ancestral residence and now a museum depicting India's freedom movement.

If time allows, you can also visit Allahabad Fort (depending on permission), a Mughal architectural beauty constructed by Emperor Akbar close to the Sangam, which accommodates the mystical Akshayavat (immortal banyan tree).

Back to your hotel for an overnight stay in Prayagraj later in the evening, reminiscing about a day packed with history, spirituality, and the eternal flow of India's holy rivers.

Prayagraj to Ayodhya – The Sacred City of Lord Ram

After a hearty breakfast, check out from your hotel in Prayagraj and begin your intercity transfer to Ayodhya, one of India’s most revered spiritual destinations and the legendary birthplace of Lord Ram. The scenic drive offers glimpses of rural Uttar Pradesh, unfolding layers of timeless culture and devotion along the way.

On reaching Ayodhya, check into your hotel and relax for a while before freshening up. Then, proceed on a spiritual tour of the holy city that resounds with stories from the Ramayana.

Your first destination is the holiest of them all—Ram Janmabhoomi, Lord Ram's birthplace and a center of devotion for millions of believers. Take a walk through this spiritually vibrant complex and soak in the divine aura that fills each stone.

Then, go to Hanumangarhi, a temple and fort dedicated to Lord Hanuman, who is believed to guard Ayodhya. Ascend the steps to pray before the powerful follower of Ram and take in the panoramic view of the city.

Proceed with your exploration by visiting Kanak Bhavan Temple, a splendidly decorated shrine claimed to have been presented to Sita by Queen Kaikeyi. Its golden images of Ram and Sita leave all the visitors spellbound.

Move on to Treta Ke Thakur, the holy place where Lord Ram is said to have performed the Ashwamedha Yagna to celebrate his triumph over Ravana. Terminate your temple tour at Dashrath Mahal, the palace of King Dashrath, the father of Lord Ram.

Return to your hotel after a spiritually enriching day for an overnight stay in Ayodhya, full of divine thoughts and cultural awe.

Farewell from the Heart of Spiritual India – Ayodhya to Varanasi Airport

With the rising sun still shining over Ayodhya, the last day of your pilgrimage starts. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your hotel and then check out as it is time to head out for Varanasi's Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS). The journey winds its way through the city-stirring landscapes of Uttar Pradesh—each mile a subtle reminder of the divine moments you've collected over the last few days.

Ponder over the deep spiritual marks imprinted by Ganga aarti in Varanasi, the tranquility of meditation at Sarnath, the sacred confluence at Prayagraj, and the ageless tales of Lord Ram at Ayodhya. Each place, each temple, and each riverbank had more to offer than sightseeing—it had access to India's ancient soul.
