    After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Dochula Pass (3,150m), where you’ll be greeted by mesmerizing views of the snow-capped Himalayas. On clear days, the towering peaks of the mountain range create a breathtaking backdrop, making this a perfect stop for photos.


    Continue your journey to Punakha and visit the Chimmi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility, nestled in the serene countryside.


    Next, explore the stunning Pho Chu and Mo Chu Rivers and take in the peaceful surroundings.
    Visit the iconic Punakha Dzong, a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture, strategically positioned at the confluence of the two rivers.


    Conclude your day with a visit to the Punakha Suspension Bridge, offering beautiful views of the Dzong and the surrounding valley.

    Punakha to Phobjikha Valley and Return

    Following breakfast, take a scenic drive to the peaceful Phobjikha Valley, about 80 km from Punakha. This glacial valley is one of Bhutan's most romantic places, famous for its pristine natural beauty, tranquil environment, and spiritual value.

     

    Awe at the expansive meadows and rich greenery of the valley, which host such rare birds as the black-necked cranes, particularly during winter. While you roam around, find yourself surrounded by a diverse array of flora—dwarf bamboos, rhododendrons, turnips, and maples—along with native fauna such as barking deer, wild boars, Himalayan black bears, leopards, and others.

     

    Walk through quaint villages to observe Bhutanese village life and absorb panoramic landscapes of the Nake Chuu and Phag Chuu Rivers set against a landscape of rolling hills and distant peaks. It is also heaven for photography and birdwatching lovers.

     

    Following a rewarding day in nature's lap, get back to Punakha in the evening.

    Punakha to Paro Transfer (120 km / ~3 hrs) & Sightseeing

    Following an early morning breakfast, travel in a scenic tour from Punakha to Paro through scenic valleys and picturesque countryside. On arrival in Paro, start exploring this culturally vibrant and scenic town.

     

    Proceed to Nyamey Zampa, one of the famous cantilever bridges of Bhutan, and then to Rinpung Dzong, a stunning fortress recognized as the "Fortress of the Heap of Jewels," which accommodates both monastic and administrative functions.

     

    Proceed to Tamchong Lhakhang, a holy temple linked by a historic iron chain bridge constructed by the illustrious bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo. Visit Jangtsa Dumgtseg Lhakhang, an unusual chorten-shaped temple with strong spiritual symbolism, and then move on to the ancient Dobji Dzong, said to be the first model dzong in Bhutan.

     

    Have a bird's-eye view of Paro International Airport, one of the world's most dramatic landings, followed by a tour to Ta Dzong, which is today's National Museum of Bhutan, featuring artifacts, ancient relics, and thangkas.

     

    Begin your day with a distant glimpse of the legendary Tiger's Nest Monastery, prelude to your hike to come.

    Chele La Pass Excursion – A Journey Above the Clouds

    After a hearty breakfast, set off on an unforgettable day excursion to Chele La Pass—one of Bhutan’s highest motorable points at an altitude of 3,988 meters (13,083 ft). The scenic drive from Paro winds through dense pine and rhododendron forests, offering glimpses of grazing yaks and fluttering prayer flags.

     

    Upon reaching the pass, soak in the breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Jomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake, on a clear day. Feel the spiritual ambiance with thousands of colorful prayer flags flapping in the wind, believed to carry blessings across the mountains.

     

    Take some time to walk around, click photos, and simply enjoy the serene alpine beauty. Later, descend back to Paro, with optional stops for scenic viewpoints or a traditional tea break along the way.

    Tiger’s Nest Hike – A Spiritual Ascent

    In the morning after breakfast, take Bhutan's most iconic endeavor — a trek to Taktsang Monastery, notoriously known as the Tiger's Nest. Perched precariously on a cliff at 3,120 meters (10,240 ft), the monastery is a sacred pilgrims' site and a symbol of Bhutan's spiritual heritage.

     

    The trek lasts 4 to 5 hours round trip based on your speed. Climb pine forest with multicolored prayer flags and enjoy awe-inspiring scenery en route. Midway, stop by Taktsang Cafeteria for tea and breathtaking vistas of the monastery hugging the granite rock.

     

    Following a visit to the sacred temple complex and soaking up its serene atmosphere, return to the beginning point.

     

    Afternoon: Visit Drukgyal Dzong, the ancient victorious fortress of old, and Kyichu Lhakhang, a most sacred and oldest temple of Bhutan.
