Welcome to the Kingdom of Bhutan! On arrival at Paro Airport, be greeted warmly by our representative, and then enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu (7,710 ft), the peaceful capital located in the heart of the Himalayas.
After checking into your hotel, spend the evening relaxing or walking around the quaint streets of Thimphu, immersing yourself in the local atmosphere, handicrafts, and traditional architecture.

Thimphu – Full-Day Sightseeing (Private Tour)
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore the cultural and spiritual treasures of Thimphu. Your first stop is Kuenselphodrang (Buddha Dordenma), home to Bhutan’s largest Buddha statue overlooking the valley, surrounded by over 100,000 smaller statues inside.
Next, pay homage at the National Memorial Chorten, built in memory of Bhutan’s beloved Third King, a sacred site for locals and visitors alike. Proceed to the Folk Heritage Museum, which provides a glimpse into rural Bhutanese life.
In the afternoon, bask in stunning views of the city from Sangaygang View Point, followed by a visit to the Takin Preserve Centre, where the country's eccentric national animal resides. Enter spirituality at the Changangkha Lhakhang, a sacred temple where parents tend to take their newborns for blessings.
End your day by visiting the impressive Tashichho Dzong, a magnificent fortress monastery that is the seat of government of Bhutan and the summer residence of the Chief Abbot.

Thimphu to Punakha/Wangdue – Scenic Transfer & Sightseeing
Post breakfast, take a scenic drive to Punakha/Wangdue (4,298 ft.). En route, halt at the awe-inspiring Dochu-La Pass (10,334 ft.), where stunning views of the snowed-capped Eastern Himalayas will greet you. The pass also has the majestic Druk Wangyel Chortens—108 intricately made stupas surrounded by fluttering prayer flags that emit an aura of peacefulness and spirituality.
On reaching Punakha, check in to your hotel and then go to see the stunning Punakha Dzong, a wonder of Bhutanese architecture constructed in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. The Dzong, once the capital and now still the winter home of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot), lies at the meeting point of the Pho and Mo Chu rivers, emanating historic grandeur.
Later, enjoy a short, peaceful hike through beautiful fields to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang, or "Temple of Fertility," constructed by the unconventional and popular Lama Drukpa Kuenley, the "Divine Madman."

Punakha/Wangdue to Paro – Scenic Transfer & Cultural Sightseeing
Break after breakfast and embark on a drive to Paro (7,483 ft.), a valley steeped in heritage and natural splendor. Make a stop along the way at Lamperi and visit the Royal Botanical Park, a heaven for nature lovers. With 36 species of exotic rhododendrons and approximately 220 species of colorful birds, the park is a welcome haven into Bhutan's biodiversity.
Upon arrival in Paro, check into your hotel and rest for a while. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan, which is located in a restored watchtower. The museum has an interesting collection of Bhutanese art, artifacts, religious thangkas, and ancient relics.
Proceed to Rinpung Dzong, or "Fortress of the Heap of Jewels," a dramatic testament to traditional Bhutanese design that is today the administrative and judicial seat of Paro.
Spend the remainder of the evening at leisure, basking in the tranquil beauty of the valley.

Paro – Excursion to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)
After breakfast, set off on one of Bhutan's most famous experiences—a trek to the fabled Taktshang Monastery, popularly referred to as the Tiger's Nest. Sitting precariously on a cliffside 3,000 feet above the Paro Valley, this sacred temple is said to be where Guru Padmasambhava retreated to meditate in the 8th century. The hike is a feast for the eyes, a source of spiritual peace, and an uplifting sense of achievement.
After descending, you’ll have time to reflect on your journey and soak in the tranquil surroundings. Return to the hotel for some rest or explore Paro town at leisure.
